Hey, all! We’re considering adding a template to ease the use of status indicators, and we wanted to check in with you all to see if it’s something that would actually be useful and worth adding.
Status indicators are icons or text that appear at the top of the page, above the title. Typically they’re used to indicate things like a page being locked on Wikipedia, but we think they could be used on our wiki to visually group pages together. For example, you could add an indicator for all of your content, or an indicator for all your pages in a specific alternate universe.
They don’t add any actual form of sorting - you’ll still need categories for that - but they do provide a quick indication of something and can be used to link to other pages. They can be used without a template, but we would definitely like to one to keep things consistent among all pages if there’s interest here.
You can see our wip template over on the testing wiki, along with two examples on the same page, which are also shown below:
The first one is is a plain indicator with no text, the second is an indicator with text and a tooltip that appears when you hover over the indicator.
