You guys may be getting sick of highlighted threads, so I'll try to throw three messages in one. There are a few new things going on, and I've talked to a couple other admins about it, but I want to bring things to everyone's attention.

Wiki Makeover Contest!

Over the next week (goal date August 28th), we will be taking feedback and refining a wiki reskin around this image. We have already started a test design on the freaky-fish wiki, and have an example page to demonstrate, using Kittyluvver's Khione. (Sorry Kitty. I know that Khione isn't one of your favorites, but we needed a page that has lots of content, but no coding, so it works well for us)

Please take a serious look at that wiki, and see if it makes you feel at home. If it doesn't, leave us some feedback. If it does, leave us some feedback c: we want to make sure that we make the best design that we can, because it should hopefully last us another year or until we get tired of it.

SpikeWings are Closed!

I probably should have given some advance notice before closing this, because there was a bit of reaction.

Most of you know that Snowblossom of Thunderclan is in charge of the SpikeWings. She has been inactive and does not intend to return to the wiki. She has always required a quality check before allowing a SpikeWing, and will no longer be approving or denying any more requests.

Being closed means that users are asked to not make any more SpikeWings. Users who currently own SpikeWing OCs are in no way obligated to get rid of them: they are still your characters. They cannot, however, be used in regular roleplays, and they will no longer be categorized as Category:SpikeWings, but as Category:Dragons of Unusable Tribes. Users looking for edits may feel free to switch these categories on Character Pages.

Losing a tribe may mean, in the future, that we may get an opening for a new tribe, but for the time being, we are still not accepting any new tribes.

No More Customized User Links

If you've missed the bandwagon, certain users have special effects when their names are linked. It may be different colors, fonts, and sizes, and in one case, even a picture.

The code behind the username effects is very laggy. Most users had a disclaimer when they asked for their effect that the effects may be temporary, and that if lag becomes a problem, the usernames will be removed.

Lag has not (yet) become a problem, but I've talked to chat a couple times, and people I've talked to have agreed that it would be good to remove them. We plan on adding some more wiki code when we do the reskin, and Wikia has added some new infobox classes, so there's even more code on top of it.

If you liked the Username Effects, and would like to keep them, you can copy them from here to your common.css file, or try putting this experimental import in your common.css:

Anyone may edit that page and add effects if they like (so long as you do not vandalize other effects)

Closing Thoughts

If you don't like these changes, don't be afraid to let us know or to suggest some new ones.

If it may be more efficient, we may make separate threads for some of these points.. I'm hoping the wiki re-skin itself will generate lots of feedback.
